We love this powder! It has a very smooth, not green taste! I am a very picky eater. I have to force most anything green down. My 3 year old is a bit better than I am, but she will pull anything that looks black or green out of her food (spices, kale, spinach, etc) She and I will eat broccoli, and peas (if they are mixed into food). This Green Powder is the exception! We call it the “Magic Drink”. We mix it into smoothies, or simply with orange juice. She loves to add the powder to the juice and stir in the magic to watch it turn green, I follow with a shaker and we shake up the rest of the magic! I only give her 1/2 scoop in the orange juice, because the energy from this makes her quite energetic and chatty. I only give it to her in the morning for this reason. I wasn’t sure at first if all of that energy was coming from the juice or the powder ( I normally dilute her juice) so we gave her pure juice without the powder and it was quite noticeable with and without, the powder is the winner! I haven’t taken the full recommended serving size for myself as of yet (2 scoops) because she always wants to drink mine and I feel it would be too much for her. Besides the smooth taste, I was most surprised and pleased with the ingredients. I was not expecting to see the ingredients list contain Organic Greens …. It does not say that on the front label. ORGANIC WHEAT GRASS, ORGANIC EGYPTIAN WHEAT GRASS, ORGANIC ALFALFA GREENS, ORGANIC BARLEY GRASS, ORGANIC OAT GRASS, ORGANIC SPIRULINA, PESTICIDE FREE CHLORELLA, ORGANIC SPINACH, ORGANIC BROCCOLI SPROUT, ORGANIC PARSLEY, ORGANIC KALE, ORGANIC TOMATO, ORGANIC FRUITS ….. STRAWBERRY, RASPBERRY, BLUEBERRY, TART CHERRY, POMEGRANATE, & CRANBERRY. Pea protein isolate (NON GMO) 24g. The sugar content was much lower than I expected at only 2 g per serving! Sodium 31mg, Protein 22g, fiber 1g. The best smoothie so far was made with 1 full scoop of powder, coconut milk (vanilla), frozen pineapples, frozen bananas, frozen cherries, & stevia in the raw! BTW …. my little one walked up while I was writing this review and saw the photo of the Protein Greens and exclaimed “That’s our Magic Powder!” ….. needless to say, this is a winner in our house!

I spent a lot of time researching green powders and this is the best. It’s expensive which is why I gave it 4 stars not 5. However, the ingredients and the way they’ve been processed are great. It does taste like a powder rather than that fresh green juice taste but it isn’t powdery in texture. I mix mine with water, ice and strawberries tastes pretty good for s green juice. If you’d rather mix with milk then try coconut milk with strawberries or raspberries. The berries are lower in sugar than a banana and they mask the ‘greeness’ better than other fruits.

This is a fab product , no questions. By far the best superfood powder I have tried. Having said that , the price is not competitive at all.
I was able to order exactly the same product from iHerb ( based in US) , pack of 3 including shipping and VAT which DHL charges (£22) and it still worked out £10 cheaper per pack. It arrived within a week as well.
For this reason giving 3 stars, otherwise the product is fabulous. In future, I will continue to order from iHerb.

This is a good replacement for a “real meal” when one’s in a hurry and needs energy with enough protein. The powder’s taste is surprisingly palatable, and after mixing it with a large mug of fluid (soy milk, fruit juice… or even water), and sipping it,one feels comfortably full, ready to rush on for what comes next when dealing with a busy schedule.
I’d not, however, advise people to use this for a ‘crash course diet’, since it should be completed with other food.
I much appreciate the very detailed description of nutrients very clearly listed on the sides of the box.: not just the usual calories, protein, fat, carbohydrates, etc… , but also a precise breakdown of the protein (amino acids) – percentage of glutamic acid, arginin, lysin, cystein, methionin…
On the whole – a great product. But an expensive one. .

I did a lot of extensive research and just haven’t found anything nutritionally that compares. I am not a health nut or a nutritional aficionado – I just wanted something I could use to make protein shales that was simple, fast, and healthier than the pre-made shakes from Slim-Fast or Ensure. This was the ticket! It’s list of ingredients is pretty amazing and more importantly it doesn’t have anything artificial in it.

As a female I was told by a doctor to avoid too much soy, as it can affect hormone levels. I also was told to avoid whey and milk based products for awhile, so I needed something that wasn’t either. The pea protein was just the ticket! Also, I can’t stand the taste of artificial sweeteners and this had none.

Taste-wise it needs help (that’s the lack of sugar and fake sweeteners). I mix it with a non-dairy/non-soy milk and a lot of different frozen fruits to help mask the taste – but it does take some time to get used to. My husband mixes it with the vanilla whey powder (1/2 and 1/2) to make it tastier. It’s not bad – it’s just not good and I mixed it with plain water once – only once.

I’ve used this as a meal replacement for sometime and really like it. My husband (who almost never eats healthy) started using it for breakfast and lunch and he said he noticed a huge difference in his energy level…I pointed out that vitamins and nutrients will do that to you…it’s not a magic shake, it’s just full of good stuff!

Over all the price is good for the quality of what your getting. I can go to Wa-Mart and get whey power for $10, but it’s full of artificial ingredients and sugar and has none of the benefits or nutrients this does. It’s excellent for those who really care about what they are getting and what they put in their body!

    Protein Shake

1 cup Milk of choice (Almond, Rice, Coconut, Soy, Cow, Goat…)
1/2 frozen Banana (easiest to break bananas in half before freezing)
Handful of frozen Fruit of choice (pineapple and mango are very flavorful, strawberries and blueberries are excellent)
1 serving of Protein and Greens OR 1/2 serving plus 1/2 serving of Protein Powder of choice
    2 spoonfuls of Olvaltine
    1 tbs Almond/peanut/sunflower butter
    2 tsp of olive oil

    Optional:
    1/4-1/2 cup Plain Greek Yogurt
    1 spoonful of honey/agave or 1-2 packet(s) stevia

  6. Ettebel

By far the best tasting green product I have ever bought. I ordered the protein plus greens as a mistake, but am glad I did. It’s quite savoury tasting as a dry powder, but far less yuck than anything else I’ve bought. I don’t know how it would do in soups and stews, but this might be worth trying. I didn’t use 2 scoops in my veg + fruit smoothie this morning, just tried a heaped teaspoonful and couldn’t taste it. I’ll gradually increase the amount until I find where it goes from being pleasant to be unpleasant to get the best out of it.

  7. Shimmy

I used it as an addition to my green smoothies – there is an extensive list of ingredients in this green, powdery supplement which you’d be hard pressed to replicate in a day with even the healthiest diet. I used half the dose and felt like I had more energy on the days that I used it. The taste isn’t great but you can get used to it and disguise it fairly well in smoothies. It is pretty expensive though if you take the recommended dosage and the packaging is way too big for the amount of powder inside.

  8. Julie

I mix it with other fruits and vegetables love it.

  9. Gracey

The taste is not the best, and it was hard on my stomach, may be because it is so potent, but I would still recommend it, because everyone is different.

  10. Lara McPherson

The quality and composition of this product is amazing, with so many beneficial nutrients all from natural sources with no animal products. The challenge is getting it to taste good – but it is worth the effort for the benefits! Through trial and error, I found a few ways to make it taste good: in a smoothie maker with a ripe banana and apple & mango juice, or with banana, sweetened almond milk, cocoa and cinnamon, or with soya milk and a mixture of berries. Sweet flavours seem to taste best if you want to disguise the ‘greens’ flavour!
