I decided to try a smoothie to take with me on vacations due to all my food allergies. It is super hard to find a safe restaurant to eat at, and some people in my family can’t stand eating Chipotle for every meal(I know, weirdos) This shake was about the only one I could find that met my needs. It is very tasty, and I have to say I am not a real fan of artificial sweeteners, I can’t use half of them, I wish they would just let people sweeten them with their desired sweetners, but that is another story. ANYWAYS, I mix mine with hazelnut milk and it does taste like a cake shake, I will say there is a bit of grit but like it says, I am a super picky eater and it didn’t bother me. My complaint is that I do not stay full with it alone. I do end up eating something else with it. So as a meal replacement(which is what I was hoping for) I would say probably not a super great option. And if you are wondering which flavor is better between the vanilla and chocolate, I much prefer the vanilla. The chocolate is just not as rich as I would like and doesn’t cover the taste of the protein as well.

This powder doesn’t blend all that great. It was very gritty and tgick no matter how much almond milk I put in it. I was bummed

This is a great mix! Flavor is fantastic, and it is oh so smooth, not grainy like many of the others. In fact, it is much smoother than the rest of the line, and you can really notice the difference.
However, my one complaint is the packaging. Getting a scoop out of there is a messy proposition, and always leaves powder out and about on the counter, clothes, etc. To fix this, I keep one of the empty plastic powder containers available and just transfer from the small bag to the large sturdy container.
Tip: This sometimes goes on sale – get it on sale, with a 15% subscribe and save, and you can get it for a VERY reasonable price, sometimes under $19-20.
Was hard to find vegan protein that is also tasty and am so happy I found this one.
The chocolate one is also delicious
Wow. I just made my first shake using this protein powder and I’m very impressed. I buy a LOT here on Amazon…great prices and benefits as a Prime member. I stumbled on this by accident, and had to try it because I love Garden of Life products. I have been using Sun Warrior protein for a while and it’s by far, the best out there. High quality ingredients make it far above all others…until this. The coffee taste shines through in this protein powder. I like that you don’t need to add any sweetener, and love the fact that digesitve biotics are added as well. It’s genuinely “complete” in every way. The only drawback is the price….you only get 8 full scoops per bag…enough for a week! LOL! Wow. So what I’ve decided to do is to mix half a scoop with the chocolate Sun Warrior to make it go further. Don’t think I can use this on any sort of regular basis as I make a protein shake almost every day, and I eat mostly vegan currently. For the price, a 30 day supply of Sun Warrior is much cheaper (and it’s one of the few products that is cheaper at the Vitamin Shoppe than here at Amazon). But I have to give high marks for this product. The coffee taste, ingredients, and smooth blending, make it one of the best on the market. Thank goodness they didn’t use brown rice protein or grasses…..really a superb product and well done, GOL! One more thing. I added water and fruit to this, and I still got a great coffee flavor. Perhaps those that don’t taste coffee may be mixing their powder with some sort of nut or dairy milk (or whatever), and that is masking the flavor.

I’ve been looking for a good replacement for Vega coffee protein powder, which is no longer made. Found it! I really like the coffee flavor and quality ingredients. Unlike the Kos brand, this product doesn’t contain inulin (chicory), which gives me migraines and causes digestive issues for some people. This product contains stevia, which you may not like. It’s not overpowering, though.
Chalky taste not keen

I’ve added this protein powder to my green smoothies for years.
I love this Garden of LIfe Pea Protein drink. It’s one of the few powder protein drinks that doesn’t contain brown rice or other grains etc. It tastes great in some unsweetened vanilla almond milk with berries/prunes/nuts added in. It is a bit hard to mix so I blend it in my nutribullet. It has plenty of probiotics and I believe pre-biotics as well. However I just noticed that it has 20mg of caffeine which I guess is in the yerba matte. I’m VERY disappointed because I’m trying to cut out caffeine now due to bad reflux and osteoporosis. I’m so upset to see that this isn’t made obvious on the front package that this is a CAFFEINATED product. It’s also listed in tiny type on the bottom of the nutritional information. I realize 20mg isn’t a lot however I don’t want any at the moment. I’m not sure how this compares to my green tea which I have cut out for the time being.
UPDATE: I discovered that there are non caffeinated versions: the plain- no flavor and the chocolate and vanilla as well as the buttery almond which I order here at amazon now.
I tried two other powder drinks from WF, one was the 365 brand with pea protein and no grain and it tasted horrible so I returned it. I also tried Amazing Grass Green Superfood Raw powder drink from Fairways and it tasted really awful so that went back too.

I used to like the old formula better than this one. This one has tapioca on the formula. I like the old one better the texture, the taste. This one is ok, but still I prefer the older.
